一個年輕的女孩在帶領一堂課並為聽眾們講說“壓力管理”的時候舉起了一杯水。在那個當下大家都以為她要問的是最經典的問題:半杯空的水還是半杯滿的水。然而她卻開口問:這杯水有多重?她微笑地詢求大家的意見,而答案則從8 oz. 到 20 oz.不等

然後她回答:絕對的重量值根本一點也不重要。因為它的重量完全取決在於我拿著它的時間。如果我只是這麼拿一分鐘,那當然不是個問題。如果我這麼拿著一個小時,我的右手可能會開始痛。如果我拿上一整天,那麼你可能需要叫救護車。在不一樣的情況之下雖然都是同樣的重量,但是只要我拿得愈久,那麼它的重量就會愈變愈重。而這就是壓力對人造成的等重。如果我們不時地帶著我們的負擔,那麼這個負擔就遲早會變得很重而讓我們難以繼續下去。

就像是我手上的這杯水一樣,你必須在下次拿起來之前先放下來一會兒。當我們得到適當的休息之後,我們可以繼續帶著這樣的負擔,也就是說我們可以在每次的練習之後都有更進一層的抗壓力。所以,盡可能在傍晚的時候就學會放下你所有的負擔,而不是把它們帶過夜。學著放下它們,一直到明天再重新拾起這樣的負擔。

無論你現在所扛的是什麼樣的包伏,先放下它們一會兒,好好地休息一下,然後在休息過後再重新拾起。生命苦短,所以學會享受並假設你已經刻了了壓力。

﹣ 接受有時候你像隻鴿子,有時候你像個雕像的事實。

﹣ 永遠保持你的言語溫柔以及甜蜜,以免你有一天要去消化他們。

﹣ 永遠閱讀可以讓你看起來很好看的東西,以免你在半途而逝。

﹣ 小心開車。因為不是只有車子才會讓廠商回收。

﹣ 如果你不能保持友善,那至少有良心可以保持模糊

﹣ 如果你可以借某人二十元而永遠不要再見到他的話,那絕對是值得的。

﹣ 你人生的唯一目標很可能只是為了警告他人而已。(我不認同啦~)

﹣ 永遠不要買一台你推不動的車 (??我每一台車都推不動啊~ 應該是在講不要咬你嚼不動的食物吧。(don't bite more than you can chew) *不要不自量力吧*)

﹣ 不要同時把雙腳放在自已的嘴裹,因為你會沒有腳可以站立。(哈哈,外國人很喜歡用這樣的成語,指的是不要讓自已沒有任何的台階下,老是把話說得很絕啦)

﹣ 根本就沒有人在意你會不會跳舞,所以只要站起來跳舞就是了。

﹣ 既然早起的蟲兒都會被鳥吃,那就睡晚一點吧。(嗯~我就是這樣生活的。XD)

﹣ 第二隻老鼠總是得到起司。(叫你凡事別衝太快。因為第一隻老鼠都會被打死。XD)

﹣ 當每一樣東西都朝著你的方向來的時候,那你鐵定是走錯道了。(暗喻人生沒有事事順心的事)

﹣ 生日對你是好的。因為你過得愈多,就表示你活得愈久。

﹣ 你可能是這個世界上的唯一一個人,但你也很可能是一個人的全世界。

﹣ 有些錯誤顯然太好玩了,所以不能只犯一次。

﹣ 我們可以從蠟筆身上學到很多事。有些是削尖的,有些很好看,而有些則很鈍。有些有很奇怪的名字,而每一個都是不一樣的顏色,但他們全都要活在同一個盒子裹。

﹣ 一個真正快樂的人是能夠在走錯路的時候還能夠欣賞風景。

﹣ 過個精采的一天並知道今天有人正想到你。

﹣ 我,才是你的朋友。

 

A young lady confidently walked around the room while leading and explaining stress management to an audience; with a raised glass of water, and everyone knew she was going to ask the ultimate question, 'half empty or half full?'..... she fooled them all... "How heavy is this glass of water?", she inquired with a smile. Answers called out ranged from 8 oz. to 20 oz.

 

She replied, "The absolute weight doesn't matter. It depends on how long I hold it. If I hold it for a minute, that's not a problem.  If I hold it for an hour, I'll have an ache in my right arm. If I hold it for a day, you'll have to call an ambulance. In each case it's the same weight, but the longer I hold it, the heavier it becomes." She continued, "and that's the way it is with stress. If we carry our burdens all the time, sooner or later, as the burden becomes increasingly heavy, we won't be able to carry on."

 

"As with the glass of water, you have to put it down for a while and rest before holding it again.  When we're refreshed, we can carry on with the burden - holding stress longer and better each time practiced. So, as early in the evening as you can, put all your burdens down. Don't carry them through the evening and into the night... pick them up tomorrow.

 

Whatever burdens you're carrying now, let them down for a moment. Relax, pick them up later after you've rested. Life is short. Enjoy it and the now 'supposed' stress that you've conquered!"

 

1 * Accept the fact that some days you're the pigeon, and some days you're the statue!

2 * Always keep your words soft and sweet, just in case you have to eat them.

3 * Always read stuff that will make you look good if you die in the middle of it.

4 * Drive carefully.... It's not only cars that can be recalled by their Maker..

5 * If you can't be kind, at least have the decency to be vague

6 * If you lend someone $20 and never see that person again, it was probably worth it..

7 * It may be that your sole purpose in life is simply to serve as a warning to others.

8 * Never buy a car you can't push. 

9 * Never put both feet in your mouth at the same time, because then you won't have a leg to stand on.

10 * Nobody cares if you can't dance well. Just get up and dance.

11 * Since it's the early worm that gets eaten by the bird, sleep late.

12 * The second mouse gets the cheese.

13 * When everything's coming your way, you're in the wrong lane.

14 * Birthdays are good for you. The more you have, the longer you live.

15 * You may be only one person in the world, but you may also be the world to one person.

16 * Some mistakes are too much fun to make only once.

17 * We could learn a lot from crayons. Some are sharp, some are pretty and some are dull. Some have weird names and all are different colors, but they all have to live in the same box.

18 * A truly happy person is one who can enjoy the scenery on a detour.
